For the "Hamburg liest festival", I wrote and illustrated two booklets exploring the friendship between Helmut Schmidt and Siegfried Lenz. They draw on the reading evenings hosted by the teachers Erna Stahl and Adolf Paul, who created spaces for independent thinking and critical reflection during the time of National Socialism.

The booklets focus on quiet resistance: conversations, books, and moments of doubt that encouraged young people to develop moral responsibility and inner freedom. My illustrations convey this fragility and the subtle strength of these encounters, showing how literature and reflection can foster courage and integrity even in challenging times.
