I contributed to the graphic narrative „Siehst du es?“ published by Carlsen, which explores the life and work of the writer Siegfried Lenz. In my contribution, I approached the theme of war not by depicting violence directly, but in a delicate, poetic way, highlighting the fragility and lasting traces of this theme on personal lives and memory.
My illustrations use fine lines, shadow and light, subtle color nuances, and visual restraint to convey the tension between vulnerability and historical events. This approach creates an intimate perspective, allowing viewers to engage with the subject thoughtfully, without diminishing its weight.
„Siehst du es?“ brings together diverse artistic perspectives, making Lenz’s life and work visible in new and unexpected ways.
